   Mrs. Dorothy Stembridge Cuthrell, age 88, a resident of 159 Bay River Rd., Grantsboro, NC died Thursday March 14, 2013 at Grantsbrook Nursing Center of Grantsboro.

   A memorial service will be held 3 pm Sunday March 17, 2013 at Christ Vision Church of Blounts Creek officiated by Pastor Ray Webb. Following the service on Sunday, the family will receive friends at Mrs. Cuthrell’s home located at 159 Bay River Rd., Grantsboro, NC.

   Mrs. Cuthrell was born in Lawrence County, TN on July 26, 1924 daughter of the late Timothy Charlie Stembridge and the late Mary Etta Smith Stembridge. She married Alton Thomas Cuthrell on March 27, 1944 who preceded her in death on April 9, 2007. Mrs. Cuthrell was a retired inspector with Georgia Pacific. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Bern.

    Survivors include two sons: Bobby J. Cuthrell and his wife Darlene of Blounts Creek and Jerry Cuthrell of Grantsboro; a daughter: Susie Rollison of Grantsboro; a sister Maudie Slade of Grantsboro; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, some who she helped raise. Mrs. Cuthrell was predeceased by a grandson: Nathan Cuthrell; two brothers: Jimmy Stembridge and William Ken Stembridge and two sisters: Hattie Clement and Betty Haglock.
