NC legislature passes bill to keep boys out of girls sports | Eastern NC Now

The NC General Assembly has passed legislation to protect girls sports from boys cheating and claiming to think they are girls to use their greater body strength to defeat real girls. Similar legislation has been passing all over the country.  The House passed the bill yesterday by a veto proof majority and the Senate followed today with a veto proof majority.   The only difference in the bills is that the Senate bill also includes college athletics while the House bill does not.  All Republicans voted for the bill as well as three Democrats with common sense in the House.

In the UK, Swimming England, that sport's governing body recently banned biological males from women's swimming competition categories and created a new "open" category in which men who claimed to think they were women could compete.  The British government has also decreed that biological boys will not be allowed to play girls contact sports in school.
