    Mrs. Frankie Moore Edwards, 81, a resident of 2919 NC Hwy. 33 East, Chocowinity, NC died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC.

    A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church of Blounts Creek officiated by Pastor Melvin Haas. Burial will follow in Ecklin Cemetery. Earl Rascoe, David Maine, Mike Clark, Doug Crumpler, Doug McRoy and Curtis Avery will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

    Mrs. Edwards was born in Beaufort County on June 28, 1931, daughter of the late Alonza and Annie Clark Moore. She was a 1950 graduate of Chocowinity High School and married George Arthur Edwards on July 14, 1950 who survives. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church and had been very involved in many aspects of her church. She never met a stranger, loved her church and family and was devoted to them.

    Surviving along with her husband Arthur of the home is a daughter: Gail Koffman and her husband Robert of Silver Spring, MD; a sister: Faye Brame of Chocowinity and two sisters-in-law: Lola Gregory of Elizabethtown, KY and Louise Edwards of Washington. Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by two brothers: James R. "Jimmy" Moore and Ronald J. Moore and a sister: Edna Chandler.
