GAS PRICE ALERT - Speedway jacks up price by ten percent or 30 cents | Eastern North Carolina Now

most other stations still lower - some at $2.99

ENCNow

The usual suspect, the gas station that is always the first to jack up gas prices and the last to lower them, Speedway, has done a ten percent price jump this afternoon, putting them 30 cents higher than many other stations.  They are now at $3.29.  As of a few minutes ago, many others like Duck Thru and the station that is the opposite of Speedway, Murphy Express, are still at $2.99.  Murphy seems always the first to lower and the last to raise its gas prices.

Usually, all of the stations will match Speedway within a day, and then Murphy will start to bring prices down again.  Twice this year, however, that has not happened, and when others did not match Speedway, they had to bring their price back down.  But to be on the safe side, fill up ASAP.

Wish I had read this yesterday. I never buy gas at Speedway since they are always the ones raising gas prices, and usually by a lot, like twenty or thirty cents. When they stick it to consumers that way, I don't want to deal with them. There are plenty of other places to buy gas.
