Michael "Mike" Snider | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Michael Anthony Snider, age 39, a resident of 335 Blake St., Washington, NC, died Friday April 5, 2013 at the home of his mother in Blounts Creek.

    A private celebration of Michael's life will be held at a later date. Michael was born in Beaufort County on May 16, 1973 son of the late William Elwood Snider, II and Judy Lane Mason Snider who survives. Due to his father's death before Michael's birth he was fortunate to have a father figure in Bobby Pipkin. Bobby was the only father Michael knew on this earth. Now Michael has met his biological father in heaven. He attended Aurora High School and Beaufort County Community College where he studied welding. He married the former Iris Diane Moore on September 14, 2000 who survives. Michael worked with All Safe Construction at Potash Corp. of Aurora. He was a former hunter who stopped hunting due to his love for animals.

    Surviving along with Michael's wife: Diane of the home and mother: Judy of Blounts Creek are three step-children: Toshia Dudley and Teffey Moore both of Washington and Kasey Bragg of Edward; a brother: William E. Snider, III and wife Veronica of Naples, Italy; a sister: Julie Snider of Aurora; his step-father: Bobby Pipkin of Blounts Creek; a step-sister: Lynn Lewis and husband Harold of Aurora; special aunt & uncle: Gidget and Randy Lindsey of New Richmond, OH; six grandchildren; five nephews; one niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

     The family will receive friends at his home, 335 Blake Street, Washington and at the home of his mother, 1378 Sparrow Bay Rd., Blounts Creek.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorials to be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, P.O. Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
