Mrs. Eddie Lee Simpson | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Eddie Lee Simpson, age 84, a resident of 419 Respess Street, Washington, NC passed away at her home peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2013.

    Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Sweet Hope FWB Church located at 3341 Mobley’s Bridge Road , Grimesland, NC officiated by Apostle Melvin Murphy, Pastor. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00PM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Pamlico Funeral Service located at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, NC.

    Mrs. Simpson was born in Beaufort County, June 7, 1928 the daughter of the late Eddie Moore and Flonnie Gorham Moore. She married Warren Simpson on April 27, 1943 who preceded her in death on October 31, 2010. Mrs. Simpson was an Alumni of N C A&T State University where she was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha “AKA” Sorority. She was a member of BeeBe Memorial CME Church in Washington, NC. Mrs.Simpson was best known for the 30 years she taught English and French at Washington High School where she was loved by all her students and co-workers.

    Mrs. Simpson is survived by her daughter, Wanza Simpson of Washington, NC; four grandchildren, Sharde’ Simpson, Chante’ Simpson, Shania Simpson and Sha’kira Simpson, a great grandson, Cassidy Simpson, and her devoted friends, Ronnie Lawrence and Aleys Harris, and host cousins and friends.
