Terry Lee Warren Mitchell | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Terry Lee Warren Mitchell, age 67, a resident of Washington, NC died Sunday July 23, 2023, at her home with family by her side.

    To fulfill Terry's wishes, a private memorial service for the family will be held later.

    Mrs. Terry was born in Beaufort County on October 28, 1955, daughter of the late Marvin Warren and the late Doris Gray Willis Warren. She was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School and continued her education at Beaufort Tech, now Beaufort County Community College. She received her associate degree in nursing and became a registered nurse and worked at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington, Walter B. Jones Center in Greenville, and Ridgewood Nursing Center in Washington. On December 31, 1999, she married Donald Brown "Duck" Mitchell who survives. Terry loved animals and raised Angora rabbits. She was a crafty person who collected their fur and would spin it into yarn, which she used to crochet. Other crafts she enjoyed were painting, making wreaths, gardening, and many other things she could make with her hands. Terry also loved fishing and bird hunting. Her spiritual life was especially important to her, and she loved her Lord and Savior.

    Surviving along with her husband: Don of the home are her children: Wraith Aaron Leggett and his wife Hilary of Selma, Emily Ruth Ann Lilley and her husband Mark of Washington, and Venessa Ann Jennings and her husband Erick of Pantego; a step-son: John Kalob Mitchell of Washington; sisters: Kristie Warren Nixon and her husband Jason of Vanceboro, and Laurie Warren Jackson and her husband Berker of Myrtle Beach; and grandchildren: Will Thomas Mitchell, Savanna Lilley, Aidam Lilley, Adrian Williams, and Kadijah Lilley and her devoted nieces and nephews. Mrs. Terry was preceded in death, along with her parents, by a sister: Rita Gayle Williams.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to the Terry Mitchell Memorial Fund to help offset her medical expenses.
