First in-person Career Expo highlights job openings at North Carolina state agencies and universities | Eastern North Carolina Now

    RALEIGH     The first-ever in-person State of North Carolina Career Expo will welcome job seekers interested in careers in state government from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at the McKimmon Center on the North Carolina State University campus at 1101 Gorman Street in Raleigh.

    Individuals with all education and experience levels are invited to register for this event. For more information and to register for the event, job seekers can visit the State of North Carolina Career Expo 2023 page. While same-day registration is available, participants are encouraged to register in advance. There is no cost for participating in this event.

    "Across the state there are thousands of job opportunities available in which people have the ability to serve in rewarding and challenging roles, truly helping people and making a difference in their lives," said State Human Resources Director Barbara Gibson. "If you are interested in working for an organization committed to ensuring that North Carolina remains a great place to live, work and raise a family, I encourage you to join us at the State of North Carolina Career Expo to learn about job opportunities available at our agencies and universities."

    Participants can learn more about the mission, values and available positions at individual state agencies and universities by visiting their individual booths. Recruiters will be available to make one-on-one connections with potential candidates.

    There will be a booth at the event where individuals can sign up for job alerts and create a North Carolina state government application profile. NCWorks and Dress for Success Triangle NC will provide additional resources to job seekers through their mobile units.

    The career event will also feature live, 30-minute informational sessions from various organizations to support success in the application process for state government jobs, including a session dedicated to providing tips for applying to state jobs.     The Higher Education to NC Government career initiative, Ed2NC, will also have a booth to discuss entry-level and internship opportunities with various agencies for current college students and recent graduates. They and others interested in entry-level positions may visit the Ed2NC Entry-Level Positions Data Bank to learn about state government jobs that align with their major and degree.
