Sheena Renee Evett Riggs | Eastern NC Now

    Sheena Renee Evett Riggs, age 62, a resident of Washington, NC died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her home.

    A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Riggs Estate Cemetery in Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Steven Mills. Pallbearers will include Phillip Riggs, Robbie Riggs, Gray Ange, Bryon Orr, Anthony Allen, and William Coltrain.

    Mrs. Riggs was born in Charleston, South Carolina on April 4, 1961. She was the daughter of the late Guy Earl Evett and Ruby Dell Whitley. On April 16, 1983, she married Robert (Bobby) Riggs who survives. She worked for P&G in Greenville, NC for a few years before returning to school and receiving her Nursing degree. She was a Cardiac nurse with PCMH, now ECU Health Medical Center, before entering into Home Health Care. Mrs. Riggs enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, her dogs, NASCAR, and she loved to have family reunions.

    Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Melissa Orr and husband Bryon of Washington, Sheri Riggs of Greene County; three sons, Elmer Gray Ange Jr. and wife Sara of Vero Beach, FL., Robbie Riggs II and wife Eleni of Fuquay Varina, Phillip Riggs of Washington; a sister, Jessie Melinda Murdock of Washington and a sister-in-law, Linda Evett of Dalton, Georgia; and 5 granddaughters and 7 grandsons.

    Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Lee Evett.
