Minnie Pryor Jones Parish | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Mrs. Minnie Pryor Jones Parish, age 93, a resident of Chocowinity NC died Thursday November 9, 2023, at her home.

    A private memorial service will be held for the family later.

    Mrs. Minnie was born in Beaufort County on November 20, 1929, daughter of Edward McKinley Pryor and the late Donna Virginia Harris Pryor. She was a 1947 graduate of Chocowinity High School. Family was very important to Mrs. Minnie, and she helped to support them by working at Samson's Shirt Factory where she became a supervisor. At home she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a member of Chocowinity Methodist Church.

    Survivors include a daughter: Virginia Dianne Jones Wright of Chocowinity; a sister Melber Baker of Chocowinity; grandchildren: Ashley O'Neal Wright (Troy Keith Coggins, Jr.), Judson O'Neal of Williamston, and Maddison Wright; great grandchildren: Beau Wright and Ashlynn Cutler; and special friends: Eula Jones, Trudy Smith, and Heaven Jones all of Chocowinity.

    Mrs. Minnie was predeceased, along with her parents by three husbands: Cecil Ray Jones, Frances Lynch, and John Wesley Parish; a brother: Tommy Pryor; and two sisters: Marjie Willis and Margaret Clark.
