Immigration Agent Who ‘Celebrates’ Hamas Is Using Paid Leave From DHS To Threaten Military Officials

Nejwa Ali, a former spokeswoman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) who the U.S. Department of Homeland Security hired to vet asylum seekers, was put on paid leave after The Daily Wire exposed her extreme bias and anti-Semitism. Now she appears to be using the free time to protest outside government buildings and most recently the Israeli embassy, where she called for doxing uniformed military personnel who she accused of contributing to "genocide."
On Tuesday, Ali shared a video that trained the camera for an extended period of time on dozens of uniformed military personnel from various countries as they exited a meeting at the Israeli embassy.
"I was protesting at the Israeli embassy today when this happened," she wrote. "THIS is exactly who is supporting Israel's apartheid and genocide of PALESTINE let's name these assholes!"
Unleashing the internet to identify individual military members involved in international affairs could be considered inciting violence or retribution. While she was an active immigration officer who helped determine who is admitted into the country, she previously posted threatening remarks online, such as, "F*** Israel, the government, and its military. Are you ready for your downfall?"
Organizing materials posted by the individual who originally posted the video show that the "die-in" protest Ali was participating in took place outside the Israeli Embassy on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The advocacy during normal work hours suggests that the Department of Homeland Security might be paying her while she targets military members for supporting a U.S. ally.
Department of Homeland Security did not respond to a request from The Daily Wire asking for her employment status this week.
Shortly after The Daily Wire on October 18 documented how Ali enthusiastically shared a drawing supportive of Hamas terrorists parachuting into a music festival with guns, DHS said she had been placed on leave. That same day, she responded to a question about whether she supported Hamas paragliders by saying in recorded audio: "I abso-f***ing-lutely celebrate them, asshole, f*** you!"
But administrative leave is paid, and DHS did not work expeditiously to fire her. On October 31, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) grilled DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on the matter, and Mayorkas repeatedly dodged the question before admitting she was not fired, saying "that individual has been placed on administrative leave."
"So she's not been fired... This isn't sufficient to fire her?" Hawley asked. A visibly angry Mayorkas said "I cannot speak to an ongoing personnel matter" and called Hawley's questioning "despicable."
Ali's LinkedIn said her DHS role was to "conduct affirmative interviews with applicants;" "perform credible fear interviews by reviewing evidence, credibility, and determine admissibility;" and "coordinate with Fraud Detection National Security team in order to determine fraud or security concerns."
The video of the protest in which Ali took part was originally posted to Instagram by a user with the name Hazami Barmada, which says she is a "Harvard Fellow." According to the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, which has glowingly featured her work, she is a media mainstay in the New York Times and other outlets.
According to the Aspen Institute, she is the director of the group's "Digital Equity Accelerator" and "held several high-level positions at the United Nations, including Coordinator for the United Nations Secretary General's World Humanitarian Summit ... In 2023, Hazami joined the faculty of George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs as an Adjunct Professor."
The protest organizing materials, shared by Barmada, show that the group held die-ins at other locations this week, including outside the White House, and has plans for more of the same next week.
"Enough slaughter of Palestinian lives. Sadly too many people in positions of power all around DC are either endorsing Israel's state sanctioned collective punishment, or are silently watching it unfold. We are using our own bodies as a reminder of the value of every single human life," the materials say.
Another video posted on Wednesday, November 15 showed Barmada and Ali protesting in front of the staff entrance of the White House during normal working hours, with baby dolls splattered with blood.
"Too many people are worried about job security, rightfully so. Too many people are worried about saying the wrong thing, too many people are worried about being seen as somehow the bad guy," Barmada said. "Thousands of Palestinian children have been murdered, funded in big part due to the power structures in these buildings," she told White House staff, who ignored her.
Ali worked in 2016 and 2017 as a public affairs officer for the Palestinian Delegation to the U.S., the D.C. office of the PLO, a designated terrorist organization. That office was expelled from the country by the Trump administration, but Ali landed on her feet, according to a screenshot of her LinkedIn profile, securing a job for the U.S. government as an "Asylum Officer."
According to her social media profiles - which say she is "American born, Palestinian @ heart" - Ali is from Dearborn, Michigan, a hotbed of unassimilated immigrants where thousands reportedly took to the streets in support of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel.
On October 9, she posted to Facebook: "How Nejwa wakes up," accompanied by a video captioned "F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel" and a photo that says "A nation that has nothing but Allah has everything it will ever need."
"Palestine will be free one day. F*** APARTHEID Israel and any Israeli that supports that bulls***. F*** you, may Allah forgive you. and spare us the crocodile tears, I sure as hell give zero f***s," she wrote.
