Tillie Carolyn Wallace Moore | Eastern NC Now

    Tillie Carolyn Wallace Moore, age 95, a resident of the Clarks Neck community passed away at her home Tuesday January 23, 2024.

    A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday January 27, 2024, at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Travis Boyd. Pallbearers will include Brandon Moore, Jonathan Moore, James Moore, Seth Manning, David Spain, and Jeremy Wallace.

    Mrs. Moore was born on August 21, 1928, in Pitt County, NC to the late Arthur J. Wallace, Sr. and the late Bessie Jefferson Moore. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Mrs. Moore was a member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved being a grandmother.

    Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Moore of Washington, five grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Jonathan Moore, James Moore, Allysen Moore, John Moore, Jr., four great grandchildren, Atticus Berry, Gracie Moore, Wyatt Moore, Remington Moore, a brother, Dan Wallace, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Duncan McCray Moore, her son, John Allen Moore, Sr., two brothers, A.J. Wallace, Jr., and Cecil Wallace.

    Thank you to Gentiva Hospice and their caring and compassionate professionals. A very special thank you to Miss Sheila and Miss Velva for the special care they gave Miss Tillie and a very special thank you to Jackie Jones for caring for Miss Tillie for 15 years.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home.
