Alan Ray Letchworth | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Alan Ray Letchworth, age 67, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Wednesday January 31, 2024, at his home.

    A memorial service will be held later at Farmville Presbyterian Church officiated by John M. "Rocky" Stone.

    The family will receive family and friends at the home and following the service at the church fellowship hall on the day of the service.

    Mr. Letchworth was born in Greene County on October 8, 1956, son of the late Ray Hardy Letchworth and Elizabeth Ann Hardison Letchworth. He was a 1975 graduate of Greene Central High School and continued his education at Lenoir Community College. On June 6, 1976, he married the former Nancy Susan Oakley who survives. He retired from the maintenance department at Bridgestone/Firestone in Wilson. His faith was important to him, which led him to become a Deacon at Landmark Baptist Church in Greenville and an elder at Farmville Presbyterian Church.

    Surviving along with his wife Nancy, of the home is his daughter Brittany, her husband Sean, the apple of his eye Tinsley, his granddaughter, his mother, Elizabeth (Ann) Letchworth of Snow Hill, brothers, Ken Letchworth and his wife Renee of Snow Hill and Rodney Letchworth and his wife Cindy of Ayden; and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
