The German state of Saxony-Anhalt will vote for its state parliament this year, and the latest poll predicts a total wipeout there for all three parties in the national government coalition, as well as of the far left Left Party. Only three parties would win seats and all of them want to crack down on illegal immigration. Two of the three are also very opposed to the climate alarmist policies of the national government while the third is ambivalent toward those climate policies.
The poll, conducted for a German media group by pollster WKPrognose showed the only three parties winning seats in Saxony-Anhalt would be the traditional conservative CDU, which has moved considerably to the right on immigration since Merkel left leading with 28.5% of the vote, followed by the populist nationalist right anti-immigration AfD at 27.5%, and the new anti-immigration populist left BSW third at 23%.
The three coalition parties in the current national governing left-liberal coalition would fall below the 5% threshold required to win seats and thus lose all their seats. The Social Democrats and Green Party would each receive 4.5% and the Free Democrats 4%. The Left Party, from which the BSW broke from would also lose all its seats at 3.5%.
An earlier poll, without the new BSW included had shown the CDU leading at 34.5% and the AfD second at 32.5% but the other parties edged their way into parliament, with the classic liberal Free Democrats at 7%, the Left Party at 6%, the Green Party at 5.5%, and the Social Democrats at 5%.
Saxony-Anhalt is in eastern Germany and consists of the northern portions of the fomer kingdom of Saxony that were annexed by Prussia after the Napoleonic Wars and the former Duchy of Anhalt. It is not to be confused with the current German state of Saxony, which is the rump of the old kingdom of Saxony, also in eastern Germany, or the current German state of Lower Saxony which is in western Germany and is the old kingdom of Hanover and Duchy of Brunswick.
BSW would take from all parties, but it would crush all of the parties in the current government coalition plus the far left. While it has left of center positions on most issues, it is firmly anti-immigration and opposes the "net zero CO2" crusade of the current government. Some have speculated that the three eastern German states with elections this year could end up with populist right / left anti-immigration governments of AfD and BSW, but the more logical alignment would be right of center coalitions between the AfD and CDU'. Both of the populist parties, AfD and BSW are also strongly anti-globalist.

That would be sweet. Every seat in a state government legislative body occupied by members who wants to crack down on illegal immigration. Wish we could do the same in America, but having a majority should be plenty, and I think that will happen a lot of places this year. And what a message delivered to the globalist national German govenrment!
