Recent media reports have suggested that the protesters disrupting the General Assembly at “Moral Mondays” represent a cross-section of North Carolina citizens. We decided to investigate that claim. Using arrest records and other public documents, we investigated who really is involved in these protests. The graphics below detail a few of our findings prior to the June 10 arrests. We are now analyzing information from the June 10 and June 12 arrests, and next week we will post even more details about those arrested in these demonstrations.

Meanwhile, check out for yourself if the people getting arrested at “Moral Mondays” truly represent our state.” And keep an eye on this site; we’ll continue to report on the protestors as long as these events continue.
