    Mr. Walter Clifford Warren, age 80, a resident of the Pamlico Plantation Community, Washington, NC, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013.

    There will be a reception for family and friends to celebrate his life on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC.

    Mr. Warren was born May 30, 1933 in Albany, NY son of the late Walter Levi Warren and Margaret Wright Branch Warren. He received his BA from New York University and his MBA from PACE University. Mr. Warren served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. He married Virginia Newcomb on October 19, 1957. Mr. Warren was a Cost Accounting and Engineer Manager with AT&T until he retired after 38 years of service. He was very kind, dedicated and hard working. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. Mr. Warren enjoyed woodworking, sailing, tinkering around the house and telling corny jokes. He considered himself a "Jack of all Trades but a Master of None". Mr. Warren had served as a volunteer EMT while living in New Jersey. After moving to Washington he helped found the Pamlico Plantation Model Yacht Club. He was also a member of the Washington Yacht & Country Club. Mr. Warren will be greatly missed by all.

    In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Michael Anthony Warren (Carolyn) of Mount Holly, NJ, Lori Warren Deakin (Paul) of Canonsburg, PA, and Kathleen Warren Bailey (Daniel) of Hamburg, PA; his grandchildren, Matthew Deakin (Lauren), Erin Warren, Diana Deakin Schlabach (Grant), Sean Warren, Nathan Deakin, Brendan Warren, Greta Bailey, Madeline Baily and Ada Bailey; and his half-brothers, Howard Branch of Florida and Lee Warren of Schenectady, NY.

    Mr. Warren was preceded in death by two children, David Andrew Warren and Jody Ann Warren.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials in Walter's memory be made to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown St., Washington, NC 27889.
