Miriam, better known as "Pink" by family and friends, was born in Halifax County on November 14, 1932, daughter of the late Dewey Edward Preast and the late Evelyn Mizelle Preast. Pink was predeceased, along with her parents, by her brothers: William Preast, Connie Preast, Duke Preast, and Frank Preast; and her sisters: Doris Davis, Jean Early, and Alice Dixon.
