Mrs. Barbara Dean Williams Woolard, age 91, a resident of Autumnfield of Belhaven, NC and a former resident of Washington died Monday June 17, 2024, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center in Washington.

    Mrs. Barbara Dean Williams Woolard, age 91, a resident of Autumnfield of Belhaven, NC and a former resident of Washington died Monday June 17, 2024, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center in Washington.

    A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday June 23, 2024, at First Church of Christ, 520 East 10th Street, Washington officiated by Ray West. Entombment will be held at Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Lawson, Jim Goldschmidt, Kevin Brunson, Reuben Everett, Mitchell Everett, and Gilbert Everett.

    Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on March 24, 1933, daughter of the late Samuel Tilton Williams and the late Mattie Elizabeth Paul Williams. She was a 1951 graduate of Bath High School. On September 29, 1951, she married the love of her life, Cedric Erroll Woolard, who preceded her in death on July 3, 2019. She helped provide for her family by working at Samsons Shirt Factory and at the time of her retirement in 1993 was a supervisor. Mrs. Woolard loved to travel and camp along with her husband. In her later years she filled her time with jigsaw puzzles. As long as her health permitted, she worshipped her Lord and Savior at First Church of Christ in Washington.

    Survivors include her children: Keenan L. Woolard and his wife Debra of Bath and Randy E. Woolard and his wife Carla of Winston Salem; grandchildren: Michael Lawson and his wife Jennifer, Kelly Goldschmidt and her husband Jim, and Kristin Brunson and her husband Kevin; and great grandchildren: Grace, James, Nora, Noah and Tyler. Mrs. Woolard was predeceased, along with her parents and husband, by a great grandchild: Graham Lawson; brothers: Napoleon Williams, and J. Tilton Williams; and a sister: Dorothy Everett.

    The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday at the church and other times at the home of her son, Keenan L. Woolard, 122 Fernwood Court, Bath.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
