Elon Musk has called for the resignation of the leadership of the Secret Service after their poor performance at the Pennsylvania rally where President Trump was almost assassinated. Musk tweeted: "Extreme incompetence, or was it deliberate. Either way the SS leadership must resign."

Here is the BBC report of the event and the Secret Service's failure to do anything when a rallygoer pointed out the man with the rifle.
There is also video of a Secret Service countersniper team with their guns trained on the shiper BEFORE he fired. There is a real question of why they let him get off eight shots before they took him out.
Erik Prince, former navy SEAL and founder of the Blackwater security firm has detailed the multitude of security failures by the Secret Service and numerous areas where they failed to follow usual Secret Service policy in protecting someone at an event. He calls the security failure at the Buler, PA event either "malice or massive incompetence". He says that the only thing that saved Trump was that the amateur shooter failed to adjust for the 5MPH wind in taking aim.
The Biden regime brought the current Secret Service director over from Pepsi where she had worked in corporate security. Since heading the Secret Service, she has been obsessed with DEI, and 48% of Secret Service agents have resigned. There was also an incident in the detail guarding Kamala Harris related to an agent hired to fill a quota getting into a major physical fight with other Secret Service agenst over a misinterpreted comment.
While the Secret Service has had very professional women agents for years, DEI apparently meant bending the standards to meet the arbitrary DEI quotas. The result was many of the female agents at the Trump rally behaved eratically and unprofessionally, and in one or two cases did not seem to even know how to holster a gun.
The other consideration is that the Secret Service comes under the Department of Homeland Security, whose head, Secretary Mayorkas, has been impeached by the House of Representatives and who has played politics with Sercret Service coverage of candidates previiously such as denying any coverage at all to Robert F. Kennedy, even though Kennedy's father and uncle were both killed in political assassinations.
There is a lot in this debacle that needs further investigation, like why the shooter also had explosive devises in his car, but can we expect an honest investigation by the highly polititicized FBI?

We all live our truth. I'm confident that mine, while not perfect, will hold up over time.
MAGA does not appeal to me because of its authoritarian nature and dependence on conspiracy theroies to sustain itself. The anti intellectualism and white nationalism don't help. I prefer a secular government that promotes the freedom of, and from religion. Win or lose, I love my country. I believe in the rule of law and in the American institutions that hold us together. I believe love wins. I'm not gonna hate people based on who they are or who they love. If you are offended by that, tough. |
