EU Parliament shockingly refuses to condemn Trump assassination attempt | Eastern NC Now

resultuion against poltiical violence rejected

ENCNow

The EU parliament has refused to condemn political violence and assassinations.  A resolution against political violence that specifically denounced the recent attempts to assassinate President Donald Trump and populist nationalist anti-immigration Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was voted down in the EU parlament.

The rsolution was authored by the populist nationalist right Patriots for Europe block.  It was also supported by the Europe of Sovereign Nations block and the Conservatives and Reformers block.  It was opposed by the Greens, the Left, the Social Democrats, the liberals, and shockingly by the center-right European Peoples Party.

The deputy leader of the Patriots for Europe noted that those voting against the resolution included a new far left MEP from Italy who as an ANTIFA leader had beaten an innocent bystander almost to death with a hammer in Budapest.

Hopefully Trump will remember this travestry in his dealings with the EU.
