Frances Elks Potter | Eastern NC Now

    Frances Elks Potter, age 89, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Monday August 19, 2024 at her home.

    Arrangements will be announced.

    Mrs. Potter was born in Pitt County on March 11, 1935 to the late William Marshall Elks and Annie Gurganus Elks. On December 26, 1953 she married Ottis Lee Potter, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 7, 2012. She worked for the Washington Women's Clinic for over 24 years. Mrs. Potter was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Washington. She enjoyed working in her yard and babysitting.

    Survivors include her son, Ottis Lee Potter, Jr. and wife Robin of Chocowinity, a grandson, Anderson Lee Potter and wife Abbey, one grandchild, Banks McGee Potter, and two special nieces, Kathy Clark, and Kathrine Vick.

    She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ainsleigh Michelle Potter, five brothers, Robert Elks, Gilbert Elks, Gentry Elks, O.C. Elks, Richard Elks, two sisters Geneva Boyd, Mark Clark, half siblings, Guy Elks, Roy Elks, Nyman Elks, Leatha Arnold, and Lucy Arnold.
