Governor McCrory Visits Victory Junction | Eastern North Carolina Now

Governor Pat McCrory joined nearly 120 campers, counselors and volunteers at Victory Junction year-around facility Tuesday night for the NASCAR event.

    Randleman     Governor Pat McCrory joined nearly 120 campers, counselors and volunteers at Victory Junction year-around facility Tuesday night for the NASCARnival event. Victory Junction is a year-round camping facility that serves children ages 6 to 16 with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses.

    “Victory Junction has done incredible things to benefit the lives of thousands of children in our state and around the world,” said Governor McCrory. “ I am proud of their efforts. It was great to join them for NASCARnival night and check out all the fun opportunities the camp provides children.”

    Victory Junction in Randleman was founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty and Paul Newman, along with other partners in 2004. The camp is in memory of Adam Petty who died in a crash at the New Hampshire International Speedway while practicing for a race in May 2000.

    Victory Junction has enriched the lives of more than 17,600 children and families since it opened. Children from 50 states and four countries have experienced the fun. Victory Junction serves children with Autism, cancer, diabetes and other chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses.

    Costs of attending the camp are covered thanks to donors and volunteers.

School announced yesterday that the so called forums at Chocowinity Middle School tonight (April 29,2025) and S.W. Snowden (Thursday May 1, 2025) have been cancelled pending the managers proposed budget.
