Milton Earl Boyd Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    Milton Earl Boyd, Sr., age 84, a resident of Washington, NC died Monday November 25, 2024 at his home.

    A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Friday November 29, 2024 at Beebe Memorial CME Church and will be officiated by Reverend Doris Gorham. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    Mr. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on February 20, 1940 to the late Jobe Boyd and Mary Virginia Smaw Boyd. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army. Mr. Boyd was a truck driver for Wuhl, Shafman, and Lieberman. He enjoyed being with his family and spending time with his friends eating breakfast at McDonalds, playing cards, picking numbers for the lottery, farming and gardening, watching old westerns, and watching football on Sundays. He was a member of Beebe Memorial CME Church.

    Survivors include his three children, Patrice Boyd Fair (Oceola) of Greenville, Milton E. Boyd, Jr. (Nekay) of Lumberton, NJ, Maurice Boyd (Dr. Shawnteeha) of Hackettstown, NJ, ten grandchildren, JaNee' Fair, Briana Boyd, Sequioa Boyd, Morgan Boyd, Milton Boyd, III, Samiyah Leola Boyd, Maurice Boyd, Jr., Kyle Boyd, Brandon Henry, Cameron McCleod, a sister, Rebecca Boyd Sutton, his favorite cousin he was inseparable from, Alice Sadler, a god son, Devon Artis, and many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Leola Ann Boyd, eight brothers, and four sisters, Johnnie Boyd, Jobe Boyd, James Boyd, Fredrick Boyd, George Boyd, Rudolph Boyd, Mary Virginia Biffle, Emma Lee Boyd, Violet Boyd, Augustus Boyd, Theodore Boyd, and Slyvia Boyd.

    The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at Beebe Memorial CME Church.
