William Vance Selby | Eastern NC Now

    William Vance Selby, age 65, a resident of Belhaven, died Wednesday December 4, 2024 at his home.

    A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday December 9, 2024, at the Selby Family Cemetery at 250 Smithwick Road in Belhaven and will be officiated by Mike Caton and Randy Clayton. Pallbearers include, Stevie Gibbs, Ralph Brinn, Caleb Credle, Ulyses Lopez, Jerry Sawyer, and Dean Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers include, Gerald Brinn, Ricky Sawyer, David Guthrie and Lynn Clayton.

    Mr. Selby was born in Beaufort County on February 4, 1959, to the late Roderick Earl Selby, Sr. and Geraldine Smithwick Selby. He was a 1977 graduate of Pungo Christian Academy. Mr. Selby was a farmer all his life for Selby Brother's and Armstrong Farms. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, taking long rides on the back roads.

    Survivors include, a son, Dakota Selby and wife Destiny, two daughters, Desarae Selby, Amanda Bunch, nine grandchildren, Ryder, Raelynn, Rodeo, Cory Michael, Kiara, Brayden, Summer, Arlo, a brother, Roddy Selby, Jr. and wife Susan, a sister, Samantha Selby, a niece, Megan Spruill and husband Thomas, a nephew, Ben Lloyd and wife Kristina, two great nephews, Jonathan, Shymire, two great nieces, Natalee and Makenzie.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday December 8, 2024 at Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
