Michael Eugene Speller | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Michael Eugene Speller, age 61, a resident of the Bear Grass Community of Williamston, NC died Sunday February 16, 2025, at his home.

    A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Pastor Robbie Parnell, Pastor Roger Leggett, and Jim Roberson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church and at other times at the home.

    Mike was born in Martin County on September 17, 1963, son of the late Chester Stephenson Speller and the late Virginia Gray Corey Speller. He was a 1981 graduate of Williamston High School. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army. On May 13, 1984, he married the former Karen Lynn Bunting who survives. He was a member of Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mike was a facility maintenance supervisor at Ann's House of Nuts in Robersonville. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, boating with family and piddling with his tractor.

    Surviving along with his wife Karen, of the home, are his children: Christopher Michael Speller of Williamston, Cody Allen Speller and his wife Brooke of Williamston, and Corey Michelle Speller and her husband Hunter Lilley-Coward of Winterville; brother: Gary Speller and his wife Bonnie of Everetts; sister: Dorinda Nicholson and her husband Nick of Williamston; and grandchildren: Leighton Speller, Miller Lilley-Coward, Everly Speller, and Vivian Lilley-Coward.

    Mike was predeceased along with his parents by sisters: Donna McGee, and Beth White; and brothers-in-law: Mac McGee, and Joe White.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge, 930-A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
