State Department cancels 83% of USAID programs, thanks DOGE | Eastern NC Now

After a six week reiew of programs funded by USAID, the United States State Department has cancelled 83% of them as being not helpful and in some cases actually harmful to the core mission of US diplomacy.   Secretary of State Marco Rubio publicly thanked DOGE for uncovering the waste and fraud in the heavily woke agenda of USAID and the types of programs is was funding.

Secretary Rubio said that the remaining 17% of programs deemed beneficial would be administered directly by the State Department going forward.   The State Department will be working with Congress on the details of that.
