    Mr. Bert Gregory, Jr., was born to the late Bert Franklin Gregory, Sr., and Carol Yvonne Foster Gregory in Pamlico Beach.

    Mr. Gregory had a love for the outdoors and was a lifelong commercial fisherman until he became the maintenance man at Quality Plus due to health reasons. In Bert's free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He did not go a day without coffee, Red Bull, and Mountain Dew. He loved cooking and was famous for his potato salad. He loved to joke and play tricks on others.

    He is survived by his wife Michelle "Shelly" Gregory of Washington, children Bert Gregory III and wife Ashley O'Neal Gregory of Chocowinity, Jason Gregory, Chris Gregory and wife Kelli of Greenville, Rebecca Gregory and fiancé Debra Ragland of Bath, Sammy Horn and Kristell Broughton of New Bern, Thomas and Jessica Horn of Supply, NC and Heather Wilson of Maryland, his sister, Michelle Ayers of Washington, his grandchildren, Colton Gregory, Braxton Gregory, Heaven Jones, Bobby "Beau" Wright, III, Kinsley Hardison, Trinity Horn, Connor Buzzell, Breanna Wilson, Stefahn Bassford and Micah Bassford, his nieces Brianna Braddy, Riley "Peanut" Braddy, Savannah Garner, Katie Foster, Crystal Gregory, Justine Pittman, Melissa Waters, Ashley Gregory, Natalie Boyette and a special great niece Daja Gregory, his nephews John E. Gregory, Jr., Timothy Gregory, Daniel Gregory, Eric Gregory, Macon Boyette, and many commercial fishing buddies.

    He is preceded in death by his brother John E. Gregory, Sr., brother-in-law Johnny Ray Ayers, Sr., nephew Johnny Ray Ayers, Jr., his maternal grandma, Effie Florence Foster, and maternal grandfather John B. Foster.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and at other times at the home of Mr. Gregory's son Bert, located at 20 Edgewood Dr. Chocowinity.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, also at the funeral home.
