The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation into hotels in New York City that were accused of operating as shelters for illegal aliens on taxpayers' dime.

The investigation centers around the funding and management of the program, The New York Times reported.

CBS News reported that federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York sent subpoenas to multiple hotels involved in the program, including the Roosevelt Hotel and the Stewart Hotel.

A third hotel, the Hotel Chandler, was also subpoenaed, but it has not been accused of housing illegal aliens.

The New York Post reported that a nearby hotel, the Candler Building, has been used as an illegal alien shelter and that prosecutors might have issued a subpoena to the wrong hotel.

Investigators sought evidence and testimony from the hotels over "an alleged violation" of federal immigration law, the subpoenas said.

Hotels were asked for the names of entities and people who were responsible for the "funding and management of the illegal immigrant/migrant shelter program," the subpoenas said, according to the Times.

The subpoenas also sought all contracts related to the program.

The report said New York City has not yet been subpoenaed in the investigation.

Nearly a quarter million illegal aliens came to New York City during President Joe Biden's term, which saw more than 10 million illegal aliens come into the U.S.

The staggering explosion in illegal aliens coming to the city spurred Democratic Mayor Eric Adams to spend $7 billion to take care of them.

President Donald Trump has led the most historic crackdown on illegal immigration in U.S. history since coming into office, with border officials recording only 8,347 illegal aliens crossing the southwest border between ports of entry during his first full month in office - by far the lowest number in history.

In contrast, under Biden, there were 249,785 arrests made on the southern border during his most chaotic month for immigration, December 2023. There were countless days under Biden when more illegal aliens entered the country in a single day than entered during Trump's entire first full month in office in his second term.

Now that President Trump is picking his cabinet and immediate staff to insulate him from the poor judgement of the Bureaucratic Class, while moving quickly to transition this Constitutional Republic unto a wise and sustainable direction: What is your immediate impression as to how our nation will prosper?
We are headed toward a Golden Age in America's self-governed society.
This will all wind up in a clustered mess since Trump is a Fascist, and thought to be the second coming of Adolf Hitler by our best journalists.
This is a time where critical days lay ahead, where only wise and responsible decisions must be made to sustain US.
I generally do not pay attention, but expect only the best to occur ... and that is what I always expect.

Should the Institutionalized Corruption of the Biden /Harris Administration, in this separate instance the Open Border Policy of our Sovereign Southern Border, be not only tolerated, but sanctioned by the raising of local spending by local politicians to pay for these now visible and known effects of rampant, and out-of-control Illegal Immigration?
Yes, it is a kind thing to do, and a way that our county, our state can aid in this tremendous effort toward local federal foreign aid; and now, thankfully, in great abundance.
No, our Constitutional Republic WILL NOT continue to exist, as our United States of America, if we do not control our sovereign borders, to protect our citizens, to keep them solvent and safe.
I only consider what is topical and popular since my friends, too, only care to do the same.

Considering the current overwhelming obstacles inflicting stress upon America's working class: rampant inflation; energy insecurity; supply chain turmoil; banking failures; foreign policy disasters; government corruption; (DEI) Diversity Equity Inclusion narrative, with WOKE extremes practiced; Climate Change ideology; intractable crime wave in Leftist cities; wide open border by executive design; a permanently discredited Legacy Media; failed or failing education industry, just to name a few of the many: Who should Americans blame?
  Donald J. Trump
  Joseph R. Biden
Leftist controlled Congress for the last 4 years.
Bloated, incompetent bureaucracy weaponized and poorly managed
The electorate, US, for putting these fools in elected office that utterly fail

It would be nice to see some charges of harboring illegal aliens result from this investigation. All of the pro-migrant NGO's including those run by social gospel churches and the CAtholic church need to be investigated as well.
