Mary Suzette Rogers Sutton | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Mary Suzette Rogers Sutton, age 84, a resident of Greenville, NC died Monday April 14, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Washington.

    Mrs. Sutton's wishes were for no public services to be held.

    Mrs. Sutton was born in King County, Washington on May 22, 1940, daughter of the late Glen Otto Rogers and the late Mary Elizabeth Hedgedous. She was a graduate of Edmonds High School in the State of Washington. She lived and worked in many locations due to following her children when they relocated. Her working career mainly consisted of being a clerk at Buncombe County Clerk of Court. She loved sewing, coloring, playing Mahjong, playing the Dulcimer and teaching others how to play it, watching her grandchildren play sports, sewing clothing for Domestic Violence Shelters, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of the Jaycees in Edmonds, Washington.

    She is preceded in death, along with her parents, by her daughter, Vicki Liscano of Santa Barbara, CA.

    Survivors include her children: Wendy Leutgens and her husband Jim of Washington, NC and Mike Sutton of Flat Rock, NC; a sister: Daedre Ross of Bradenton, FL; and grandchildren: Geoff Leutgens and his wife Samatha Hager of Greenville, NC and Roark Leutgens of Washington, NC.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to Pruitt Cares Foundation, 1626 Jeurgens Ct., Norcross, GA 30093 or to Center for Violence Prevention 111 E. 3rd St. Greenville, NC 27858.
