President Donald Trump on Saturday told the American people to "hang tough" as short-term pain is felt from a slew of new tariffs, and also noted trillions of dollars in investments committed to the United States.

This past week, Trump unveiled his "Liberation Day" plan for implementing reciprocal tariffs on imports to rectify what he views as a decades-long trade imbalance between the United States and other countries.

"China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close," the president posted on Truth Social. "They, and many other nations, have treated us unsustainably badly. We have been the dumb and helpless 'whipping post,' but not any longer."

"We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before," Trump said. "Already, more than FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT, and rising fast!"

Additionally, before Trump signed his order on Wednesday, Israel announced it would be removing all tariffs on United States products and Vietnam would cut duties on United States imports such as cars and liquified natural gas.

Trump's post added that his tariff plan is an "economic revolution" that America "will win."

"HANG TOUGH, it won't be easy, but the end result will be historic," he said. "We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

As reported by The Daily Wire, Trump marked April 2 as "Liberation Day," and said foreign nations will now be charged roughly half of what they impose with tariffs, including China, India, and the European Union.

"My fellow Americans, this is Liberation Day," Trump said in the Rose Garden on Wednesday. "April 2, 2025, will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was reclaimed, and the day that we began to make America wealthy again."

"For decades, our country has been looted, pillaged, raped, and plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike. American steel workers, auto workers, farmers, and skilled craftsmen ... they really suffered gravely," he continued.

"We're not going to let anyone tell us that American workers and families cannot have the future that they deserve," Trump added. "We are going to produce the cars, ships, chips, airplanes, minerals, and medicines we need right here in America."

Daniel Chaitin contributed to this report.

Now that President Trump is picking his cabinet and immediate staff to insulate him from the poor judgement of the Bureaucratic Class, while moving quickly to transition this Constitutional Republic unto a wise and sustainable direction: What is your immediate impression as to how our nation will prosper?
We are headed toward a Golden Age in America's self-governed society.
This will all wind up in a clustered mess since Trump is a Fascist, and thought to be the second coming of Adolf Hitler by our best journalists.
This is a time where critical days lay ahead, where only wise and responsible decisions must be made to sustain US.
I generally do not pay attention, but expect only the best to occur ... and that is what I always expect.

I once listened to the Business Scions about so-called Free Trade; all without examining the finer details, and then I realized, these self-interested business types were just in it exclusively for themselves, and say anything to "talk their book."

It is time in the Republic to be a patriot; think like a patriot; act as a patriot; learn to listen those that have that very real calling of a patriot.
