US Department of Justice sues NC Board of Elections over faulty voter lists | Eastern NC Now

Improper voter registrations was one of the issues involved in the lawsuit over the 2024 Supreme Court race in North Carolina, and helped Democrats steal that seat. Now the US Department of Justice has sued the NC Board of Elections over that very issue.  This issue has been raised with the elections board repeatedly by citizens groups but the Democrat led board refused to do anything about it.  Now, with the US Department of Justice breathing down their necks, they might not have a choice.

For decades, the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), a federal law, has required every state to record the drivers license number or last four digits of the Social Security number on every voter registration.  This is a key policy to stop voter registration fraud.  North Carolina's Democrat run State Board of Elections has refused to enforce this policy for years.  While they listed a place to give that information on forms, they allowed anyone to register who did not provide it.  There are now hundreds of thousands of voter registrations in North Carolina which lack this federally required information.  That makes fictitious voter registration easy.
