Populist nationalist wins Poland's presidency against pro-EU globalist centrist | Eastern NC Now

Trump-endorsed historian beats Warsaw mayor

ENCNow

The candidate backed by Poland's populist nationalist anti-immigration party, Law and Justice, and also endorsed by US President Trump, has won Poland's presidential election.  Historian Karol Nawrocki has defeated Warsaw's globalist centrist mayor, who was backed by the governing coalition of globalist pro-EU prime minister Donald Tusk.  That leaves the presidency in the hands of Law and Justice, the party of the outgoing president.

It was a tough race that featured election interference from globalist run EU countries and from Tusk's government.  One of the more outrageous moves was Tusk cutting off the government funding for Nawrocki's campaign.  Political campaigns in Poland rely mostly on government funding.  Tusk's government had used a frivolous reason to deny funding Nawrocki's campaign while fully funding that of Tusk's own candidate.  Tusk refused to follow orders from election officials to release the money, and then even disobeyed orders of Poland's courts to do so.  Nawrocki was able to overcome this major handicap and still win the race.  He also had to overcome smears in Poland's government run media as well as media owned by Soros.

President-elect Nawrocki is a staunch opponent of mass migration and a staunch supporter of national sovereignty against EU encroachment.  During the campaign, he would often declare that "Poland is not a province of Brussels" ( Brussels is the EU capital)  Nawrocki said that all of his decisions as president will be based solely on what is best for Poland.

Given the tremendous amount of his political capital that Tusk put into trying to put his man into the presidency, there are questions about his future as prime minister.  He could feel compelled to resign or could face a vote of no confidence.   Law and Justice could form a majority in the current parliament with the help of two parties.  Confederation Liberty and Independence, is to the right of Law and Justice and endorsed Nawrocki even though it is an "odd couple" party in Tusk's government coalition.  The Polish Peoples Party is a rural conservative party that has formed coalitions with Law and Justice in the past but is now part of the Third Way grouping that is in Tusk's coalition.  The EU climate measures backed by Tusk have hit Polish farmers hard.  A Law and Justice, Confederation Liberty and Independence, and Polish Peoples Party coalition would have a majority in the current parliament.

More good news from Europe as the voters of the western world reject mass migration. The Tusk government has been all over the landscape on illegal immigration. Nawrocki is rock solid on the issue.
