Sandra Jean Gorham | Eastern NC Now

    Sandra Jean Gorham, 77 a resident of Washington, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, with Steve and Buck Dog by her side.

    A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens with Elaine Briley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

    Sandra was born on January 24, 1948, in Beaufort County, to the late Virgil and Lucille Sparrow Cochran. She was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Pitt Community College. Sandra was a bookkeeper for Crockett Irrigation in Williamston. She was the first girl in Washington to play Little League baseball, and she was an excellent racquetball player. Sandra was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ.

    Survivors include her husband, Steve Ross Gorham of the home, daughter, Jenny Willis (Ben) of Virginia Beach, Va., brothers, Mickey Cochran of Washington and Steve Cochran of Conway, SC, grandchildren, Xander and Caroline Willis.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Old Ford Church of Christ, 6040 US Highway 17 N, Washington, NC 27889. Flowers and food are not necessary but appreciated.
