Frances Carol Lewis Warren was born in Washington on June 15, 1944 to Ottis Brian Lewis and Clarcie Whitehurst Lewis. She graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1962. She married William Stanley Warren on January 5, 1963 while he was home on Christmas break from North Carolina State University. He promptly returned to school the next week leaving his new bride home to work in the office at Belk Tyler Department store in downtown Washington. William joined the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission as an officer and they moved to His first station assignment in Windsor. There they welcomed Tracy Brian Warren on February 21, 1965 with Zina Ann Warren following on March 6, 1967.

They moved several times for William's job and settled in their forever home in Chocowinity in 1978. Carol was a dispatcher for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Upon William's retirement, she assisted him on the family farm. There wasn't anything they couldn't tackle together. They built their forever home themselves only needing assistance with shingles, sheet rock and brick masonry. They ventured on to completely restore the old Talley Hardware Store in downtown Washington to move their business, Warren's Sport Headquarters there.

Always resilient and an ever-faithful friend, she will be missed by us all. We are better people for having known and loved her.

She is survived by her son Tracy Warren and his wife Yvonne of Chocowinity; her daughter Zina W. Burbage and her husband David of Belhaven; her grandchildren Davey Ann B. Little and her husband Phillip of Belhaven; Gray Burbage and his wife Kayla of Bath; Brian Warren and his wife Whitney of Simpson; Will Warren of Washington; Carson White and her husband Zach; Kelsey Wahl and her husband Zach; Katie Bradley and her husband Keaton; Anna Claire Pleasant and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband William Warren; her parents Ottis and Clarcie Lewis and her sister Pauline Crisp.

A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday August 2, 2025 at Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Chocowinity and will be officiated by Kevin Woolard.
