In his previous term as prime minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babis was nicknamed "the Czech Trump". Now polls for the October parliamentary election give Babis' ANO Party a wide lead, making it almost certain he will be returning to office, replacing the governing coalition which is led by the traditional conservative Civic Democrats.
ANO is the Czech word for "yes" and it an abbreviation for the full name of the party which is "Action of Dissatisfied Citizens." It is a populist nationalist anti-immigration party of the right that is closely aligned with Hungary's nationalists. ANO is a sovereigntist party which opposes globalism. It is running against the EU's climate agenda and migration policies. ANO won last year's regional and local elections by a wide margin.
The poll gives ANO a lead of over ten points ahead of the second placed Civic Democrat led coalition. Running third is the Party for Freedom and Direct Democracy, a populist nationalist anti-immigration party that is to the right of ANO. The Party for Freedom and Direct Democracy calls for a referendum on leaving the European Union and for banning mosques in the country.
The poll numbers indicate that ANO and the Party for Freedom and Direct Democracy will together have a solid majority in parliament.

Illegal immigration is a huge issue in most European countries and the citizens are fed up with it. The Czech Republic is just the latest example.
