After decades of only giving to Dems, major union opens cash spigot to GOP | Eastern NC Now

One of America's largest labor unions, the Teamsters seems to be shifting its allegiance.  After a series of public statements by the union president about the Democrats abandoning working people, the union is starting to put its money where its mouth is.  After decades of only contributing to Democrats, the Teamsters have now opened their cash spigot to Republicans.

In Congressional races, Teamster contributions this year have so far all been to Republicans, including 22 individual congressional candidates and to the Republican National Congressional Committee.  They are, however, giving money to Democrats on the state level to the Democrat Governors Association and to the Democrat Attorney Generals Association.

And, in Washington, DC, the city's police union has endorsed President Trump's federalizing the Washington Police force.
