David Ryan Spruill | Eastern NC Now

    David Ryan Spruill, age 52, a resident of Goldsboro, NC died Thursday August 14, 2025 at his home in Goldsboro.

    A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Sunday August 24, 2025 at First Christian Church of Belhaven.

    Ryan was born in Beaufort County on August 20, 1972, to the late David Marshall Spruill and Ellen Woodward Mason. When Ryan was young, he was active in the church youth group, he played football and was part of the Boy Scouts where he earned Eagle Scout. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his brother Eric. Later in life Ryan enjoyed word searches, fishing magazines, and visiting with friends and family. Ryan never gave up his love for fishing and was able to go often with the help of the Renu Life Staff. Ryan was witty and quick with a joke. Ryan loved his family and caretakers.

    Survivors include his sister, Suzanne Harrington and husband Paul of Greenville, a niece, Olivia Harrington of Greenville, and a stepfather, Phil Mason of Swan Quarter.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the First Christian Church of Belhaven.

    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at ReNu Life who loved and cared for Ryan like family.
