New York is suing to try to resume giving US welfare to illegal aliens | Eastern NC Now

The state of New York is trying to get around federal law that prohibits illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits from US taxpayers.  They have filed a lawsuit, hoping to get a crooked Obama or Biden judge to ignore federal law and let them do it.

A federal law passed in 1996 prohibits states from using federal funds to pay welfare benefits to illegal aliens and also requires states to certify that they are not doing so in order to receive federal welfare money.  Former Democrat Attorney General Janet Yellen undermined this law by giving "waivers" to some Democrat states that relieved them of the obligation to certify their compliance.  New York was one state that received such a waiver and has apparently been disregarding the prohibitions in the 1996 law.

The Trump administration has revoked those waivers.  When New York failed to file its certification, their federals funds for these welfare programs were cut off om compliance with the law.

Paying out welfare to illegal alien freeloaders is a huge burden on taxpayers in many western countries.  In Germany, 63% of welfare spending goes to illegal aliens, for example.   The US Congressional Budget Office calculates that Biden's open borders policies cost American taxpayers $16.2 Billion in extra spending in just Emergency Medicaid alone.
