    Charles Dale Ward, age 53, a resident of Farmville, NC, died Monday, September 30, 2013. There will be a graveside funeral service with military honors at 3:00 PM, Friday, October 4, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC. The family received friends Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 7:30 to 8:30 PM at First Baptist Church, Wilson St., Farmville, NC.

    Dale was born May 13, 1960 in Greenville, SC, son of Charles G. Ward and significant other, Dorothy Cason of Greenville, SC and mother Elizabeth Ann Benthall and step-father John Benthall of Farmville, NC. He graduated from Sam Houston High School, Arlington, TX and attended Pitt Community College. Dale served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a salesman with Doug Henry Chevrolet, Buick, GMC. Dale enjoyed construction and loved cooking. He attended First Baptist Church of Farmville.

    In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers, Dallas Daniel "Dan" Ward and wife Kelly of Arlington, TX and Billy Joe Ward and wife Marti of Table Rock, SC and nephew Nathan.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or the charity of the donor's choice.
