Governor's race in very Democrat New Jersey now tied | Eastern NC Now
as Virginia race tightens
Only two states elect governors in the off hear 2025, New Jersey and Virginia. While Virginia has tilted Democrat in recent elections, New Jersey has been solidly Democrat. Polls, however, are giving Republicans hopes in both states. First in Virginia, the race has been tightening as the Democrat nominee has been evasive on hot button issues.
Now, polling in New Jersey has showed the race a dead heat, with the candidates tied. The momentum is all with the Republican candidate, Jack Ciatterelli who is endorsed by Trump. In a recent debate, the GOP nominee got in some heavy blows on the Democrat, who is a member of Congress, being fined for violating stock trading laws. Only a few weeks ago, the Democrat had a double digit lead. Now the latest poll by Emerson College shows the race tied.
