Kenneth James Curry | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Kenneth James Curry, age 66, a resident of Vanceboro, NC died Monday November 3, 2025, at his home while surrounded by family.

    A private memorial service will be held for the family later.

    Mr. Curry, known by many as "Jim Bob" was born in New London, Connecticut, son of the late John Lenard Curry and the late Janet Ellen Kristine Laybutt Curry. He was a graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, VA and continued his education at a community college. On September 12, 2012, he married the former Rita Robin Rogers who survives. He worked at several auto body repair shops locally including Williams Body Shop in Washington. He loved working on cars, cooking on the grill for family and dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Curry was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Bear Grass.

    Surviving along with his wife, Robin, of the home are a daughter, Amanda C. Kidd and her husband Jay of Alexandria, VA; stepdaughters, Danielle Feltner of West Virginia, and Gloria Trulove of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Jenny C. Sullivan Neal of Pantego; grandchildren, Jonathan Love, Jacob Morris, Landon Koch, Robbie Koch, Olivia Koch, and Savannah Fletner; and a great grandchild, Mallorie Love.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Kenneth Curry Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.
