Darrell Lane Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Darrell Lane Boyd, age 67, a resident of Pinetown, NC died Wednesday December 17, 2025, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

    A celebration of his life will be held later and will be announced by Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mr. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on December 6, 1958, son of the late Clyde Nicholson Boyd and Verna Rae Harris Boyd who survives. He was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School and continued his education at Pitt County Community College where he earned his associates degree and became an machinist. Later he studied at Beaufort County Community College and received his second associates degree in electronic engineering. With his degrees he became the owner and operator of Eastern Design & Machine in Pinetown. On April 12, 2003, he married the former Katie Elizabeth Galloway who survives.

    Surviving along with his mother: Verna Rae Boyd of Bath is his wife: Katie of the home; his fur baby: Ginger Roo Boyd of the home; brothers: Richard Boyd of Bath, and Jeffery Boyd and his wife Kim of Clayton; sister: Pam Boyd Lamb and her husband Jim of Bath; his nephews and nieces: Brian Lamb, Austin Lamb, Joshua Boyd, Ashley Lamb, Keiley Lamb, Lauren Boyd, Sara Brame, and Caitlin Mills and her husband Tyler; and a great nephew: Levi.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, P.O. Box 33, Washington, NC 27889.
