Dem. WA AG abuses office to try to stop investigation of Somali daycare fraud | Eastern NC Now

threatens journalists with "hate crime" prosecution

ENCNow

As discoveries of taxpayer frauds by Somalis around the country keep being uncovered, Democrat officials are rushing to try to protect the Somali fraudsters.  In Washington state, the "woke" Democrat state Attorney General Nick Brown got involved by issuing a statement threatening or prosecute independent journalists investigating fake Somali daycares there for "hate crimes" if they attempted any investigations.

That got immediate pushback from the United States Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon, who reminded Brown that his action to intimidate journalists could be prosecuted as a felony under federal law for Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.  She advised Brown that her office would protect the First Amendment rights of the independent journalists.  "The USDOJ takes potential violations of 18 USC 242 seriously," she told Brown.  That statute could see Brown indicted federally for a felony if he persists in obstructing the independent journalists.

It was independent journalists that have broken the stories on daycare fraud by Somalis in Minnesota and Ohio.
