Americans support election integrity - why are Democrats against it? SAVE Act debate

Polls show that Americans support election integrity. The liberal Pew Research Center poll found 83% of Americans favor requiring voters show a government issued ID to vote. The highly respected Gallup Poll found that a similar 83% of Americans support requiring those registering to vote to prove their citizenship.

The SAVE Act that requires proof of citizenship to register to vote passed the House with bi-partisan support. Now it is stuck in the Senate with Chuck Schumer fighting it tooth and nail. Why are the Democrats fighting something with overwhelming public support? Is it because illegal aliens are a Democrat voting block, even if voting illegally?

Majority Leader Thune, an old McConnell man, needs to have the heat put to him to force a "standing filibuster" on the SAVE Act. In other words, make the Democrats have to stand up for 24 hours a day to debate the bill. This is the only way it can be forced to a vote. This bill is that important, and there is a real question over whether Thune has the 'nads to do it.

Schumer's comment about the SAVE Act being "Jim Crow 2.0" is just absurd. In reality, Schumer is Benedict Arnold 2.0 in selling America out to foreigners. Schumer should be tried for treason.
