polls continue to show GOP leading for BOTH spots in CA jungle primary for governor | Eastern NC Now
that would set up a Republican vs. Republican race for governor in November
California has a "jungle primary" for public office where all candidates of all parties compete against each other and the top two, regardless of party then go to the general election. The odd thing in Democrat California is that polls have been showing and continue to show that this may result in a Republican facing another Republican for governor of the liberal state in November.
Republicans have two strong candidates and they are running in first and second place in the polls. Democrats are split more ways and trail. The polling average has former advisor to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Steve Hilton, who is now a naturalized US citizen and county sheriff Chad Bianco tied for first place, with the top Democrat, Congressman Eric Swallwell (boyfriend of Red Chinese spy Fang Fang) three points behind.
