Virginia referendum on gerrymandering Congressional map up for vote gives GOP only 1 seat | Eastern NC Now

Virginia's gerrymandering referendum is up for a vote Tuesday, and many expect it to be close.  In a state where the last governor was a Republican, the Democrat scheme would give Republicans only one Congressional seat out of 11, instead of the 5 out of 11 they hold under the current map.  The current map was drawn by court-appointed experts.

This is part of the far left agenda of Commissar. . . err ... Governor Abigail Spanberger who ran as a "moderate" to fool the voters but has been governing as a hard left socialist from the day she was sworn in.  Lying to the voters seems standard operating procedure for Democrats these days.

Under the Democrat map, liberal Fairfax County in the DC suburbs would dominate 5 of the 11 congressional districts, instead of the two they currently do.

The gerrymandering derby began with Democrats drawing out Republicans in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maryland, and only stopped by the courts in New York.  In Texas, Republicans had drawn lines based on the assumption that it was necessary to draw "minority majority" districts where possible where two different minorities.  In a case involving a major Texas County's commissioner districts, however, the federal courts ruled that was not necessary.  Based on that court decision, the Texas legislature revisited those districts and redrew them according to the court's ruling.  This set the Democrats on ifire and they moved to gerrymander California in retaliation, and now Virginia.
