Henry Hinton: "NCAE teachers union rally in Raleigh was like a communist / left wing rally". | Eastern NC Now

teachers union rally held on major socialist / communist May Day holiday

ENCNow

The NCAE teachers union deliberately chose the major holiday on the communist / socialist calendar, May Day for their rally in Raleigh.  They did that even though the group they were claiming to try to influence, the North Carolina legislature, typically does not meet on Fridays and was not even in town for their rally.  The far left symbolism was obviously more important to them than the opportunity to actually influence the key decision makers.

This morning on his "Talk of the Town" radio problem, WTIB's Henry Hinton was joined by a guest from the John Locke Foundation to discuss the NCAE rally.  Hinton referred to the NCAE gathering as "looking more like a communist / left wing rally" and his guest agreed.

While in their local areas, NCAE members spoke of their rally almost entirely in terms of seeking better teacher pay in the state budget, a legitimate issue, their tone in Raleigh was a lot more shrill and emphasized a much more radical agenda.  They called for collective bargaining for themselves to give the NCAE full union powers in dealing with local school boards.  They called for increasing taxes on "the rich".  They called for redistricting to help the Democrats.  They called for an end to enforcement of our immigration laws..

Maybe the NCAE did not want the legislature around to really see what radical leftwingers they are.  We in Beaufort County should remember that we have two members of this organization about to join our school board in December.

VZ, this one does not fall in the lap of the party leadership. It was orchestrated by a liberal on the present school board who masquerades as a "Republican". that is Carolyn Walker. She recruited one of those candidates and backed both. She and her husband Randy, another fake "Republican" spent most ot the day at the joint Chocowinity / Gilead polling place smearing two conservative incumbents who were running, Charles Hickman and Steven Rader.

If we want a conservative school board, the top agenda item in 2028 is to primary and remove Carolyn Walker from the board. She is the liberal kingpin there.

Well, how DID the local GOP get saddled with two members of a far-left organization as "Republican" nominees for the school board? It's really harmful how the party leaders controlling things now are so invested in their fanatical war against conservatives while at the same time chumming up to Democrat infiltrators swarming the GOP. Maybe if they could possibly get their priorities straight, they might think about vetting candidates. Then again maybe this is just what they are.

Calling the NCAE teachers union "communist" is going a bit far. Hinton went overboard there. However they are far left, and there is no doubt about that. An affinity for the world's top communist /socialist holiday is hardly the only example of that. What puzzles me is how the local GOP got saddled with two members of this far left organization as "Republican" nominees for school board.

Charles: Thank-you for your service as a strong member of the school board.

No longer can we allow the Education Industry to indoctrinate, and under education our most precious resource.

On the mean, they truly messed up the Millennial Generation. I know this from much sincere experience.

A 45-year Cold War, and the end of the Soviet Union has not ended the argument for and against communism in the United States. While leftist groups continue to honor the communist holiday (May Day), the state of Florida has approved a new history of communism standards in their public schools. Back and forth we go.

The Florida standards emphasize how communist ideologies have historically suppressed individual freedoms, abused powers, and inflicted widespread suffering. The left-wing groups avoid direct dealings with both history and ideology. They focus on issues of pay, unionized collective bargaining, taxing "the rich," political redistricting, and non-enforcement of immigration law advocacy. They use an indirect approach that is ultimately very ideological.

I personally do not fear an honest debate of the subject in all arenas, including our public schools, as long as the conversation uses high scholastic standards. Methods used in political arguments should not be relied on in institutions of learning. Things that are true and proven enlighten in a way sophistry cannot duplicate.

Two of the members of this radical teachers union being on our school board is scary, but one wonders how many more of them are out there in classrooms teaching our children? One hopes they do not bring their ideology into the classroom.
