Lloyd D. Smith | Eastern NC Now

    Lloyd D. Smith (Stillwater) the son of the late Joseph and Mary Smith died on Wednesday Morning November 13 at 2:30 a.m. at home.

    He resided at 5535 East Virginia Beach Blvd, Apt. 127, Norfolk, Virginia, 23592. He graduated from P.S. Jones High School where he played football and was a member of the Marching band.

    Lloyd was employed with Sears for 25 years and later retired in 1991, He later became self-employed doing the one thing he enjoyed most, being an appliance technician. He was a former member of the progressive Gents Club of Tidewater. Lloyd enjoyed watching all sports but his favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles.

    Lloyd was married to Verneice Jenkins Smith and was the father of 7 children: David Smith, Phoenix, Arizona, Gary Smith, Charlotte, NC, Jackie smith, Penny, Annette, Tony, and Markise, all of Norfolk, Virginia. Lloyd leaves to cherish his memory, 10 sisters and brothers: Vestie S. Spencer, Augusta, Georgia, Floyd Smith, Sarah E. Smith, Melvin Smith, Mazel S. Boston, Washington, NC, Franklin R. Smith, Greenville, NC, Joseph Smith, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Charles Smith, El Paso, Texas, Oscar Smith, Yonkers, New York, Carolyn Rogers, Chocowinity, NC, and his youngest sister, Mary passed in 2009.

    Services for Lloyd will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Hale Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Virginia 23504.
