    Mrs. Theodora "Dokie' Miller, age 86, a resident of Bath went home to our heavenly Father on Wednesday November 20, 2013.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday November 22, 2013 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor William Creech.

    A visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday November 21, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mrs. Dokie was born in the Terra Ceia Community of Pantego on October 28, 1927, daughter of the late Gerrit "George" Hoogendoorn and the late Teresa Thelenga Hoogendoorn. She married Jack Batson Miller on December 28, 1941 who preceded her in death on April 22, 2008. Dokie lived a full life in Bath as a housewife and seamstress. She was an active member of Bath United Methodist Church. She was a very compassionate person with a humble spirit and will be missed by her family and many friends.

    Survivors include three sisters: Hennie Lewis and Betty Harris both of Bath and Marie Slade of Bayview; a sister-in-law: Martha Garrett of Pantego and many loving nieces and nephews.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Bath United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 281, Bath, NC 27808.
