Senate leader Thune to face censure from SD GOP over failure to move SAVE America Act | Eastern NC Now

latest in pressure to pass popular bill

ENCNow

The South Dakora Republican Party has joined efforts to pressure US Senate Majority Leader John Thune (RINO-SD) into pushing through the popular SAVE America Act on election integrity.  A motion to censure Thune for his refusal to actively push this legislation will be voted on at the South Dakota Republican Party state convention.  It has already been approved by the convention's Resolutions Committee.

Multiple polls have shown support for the SAVE America Act at around 80% of voters, including a majority of Democrat voters.  Most Democrat politicians, however are stridently opposed to it because it would making election cheating much more difficulat.  The Act is a high priority for President Trump and also for House Republicans.  Indeed in the House, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has put together a coalition to block all legislation from the Senate until they move the SAVE America Act there.  It has already passed the House.

There are two key parts of the SAVE America Act.  It would mandate photo voter ID in all federal elections.  The US is now the only industrialized country in the world that fails to do this.  The second is that it would mandate proof of citizenship to register to vote.  There have been too many cases of illegal aliens and other foreign citizens registering and voting in American elections.

House members have tried to talk sense into Thune.  So has President Trump.  Maybe his own home folks in the South Dakota Republican Party can finally do it.  If not, they need to start looking for a primary opponent for Thune.

As President Reagan once said "If you can't make them see the light, you can make them feel the heat."

Recent political rulings by highly partisan Obama and Biden federal district judges to try to protect the voting of illegal aliens in our elections makes this issue quite urgent.

It was a clear beautiful, royal blue sky day on Wall Street. The S & P futures were up markedly, awaiting a positive open, as I turn to get my first cup of coffee. I return to CNBC to get the morning business news, when I notice that the S & P futures are falling, and they're falling fast.
